Game Currency Cash-Out Guide
What cashing out game currency means, where and how to do it safely, and what to know about payouts, taxes and risks. This is informational only — check each game's terms of service and applicable law, and consult a professional when needed.
1. What is cashing out?
Selling in-game currency (Adena, Dia, Kinah, Meso, etc.) for cash through an exchange is commonly called ‘cashing out’.
The exchange rate is the ‘price’. For example, 1,500 KRW per 10,000 Adena means selling 10,000 Adena gets you about 1,500 KRW (before fees).
2. Where to do it — established exchanges
Use established exchanges (Barotem, ItemMania, ItemBay) and always go through escrow (safe payment).
Being lured off-platform to a personal account to ‘save on fees’ is a classic scam sign. GameSise aggregates and compares the lowest prices across these exchanges.
3. How is the payout calculated?
Payout ≈ price × quantity − exchange fee. Fee policies differ by exchange, so check each one.
Enter a quantity in the price calculator on any server page to see the estimate in KRW and your local currency.
4. Checking the price properly
The same currency can differ by server, exchange and time. Always check the fair price before selling.
GameSise shows the lowest price per server, 24h change, exchange comparison, and 7-day high/low/average. Be suspicious of offers far above or below the market.
5. Risks and cautions
Cash trading may violate some games' terms of service and lead to account penalties — check the game's terms first.
Upfront-payment demands, off-platform lures, abnormal prices, and large listings of unknown origin are scam/clawback red flags. Always use escrow and keep records.
6. Taxes and legality
Ongoing, for-profit trading may be taxable as income. Exact reporting and tax duties depend on your situation, so consult a tax professional.
Do not trade as a minor, use others' accounts, or launder funds. This is not legal or tax advice.
7. Safety checklist
① Check the fair price ② Use escrow ③ Check seller reputation/history ④ Refuse off-platform lures ⑤ Keep chat, payment and in-game records.
